Candy Shop have just released two new flavours, ‘Cola Cherry’ and ‘Pina Colada’, adding to their already broad portfolio of sweet tasting flavours. Before getting into this review, I want to talk about the 100mg/g strength that comes with these pouches, and clear up some misconceptions about Candy Shop and similar products. People who are used the ‘classic’ Swedish nicotine pouches, generally capped at around 24mg/g may try one of these, leave it in for 20 minutes, before feeling ill, and throwing the whole can away. These products aren’t meant to be used in the same way as brands like LYFT, and ACE. You wouldn’t drink vodka as if it were beer, so why would you use a 100mg/g pouch in the same way you’d use a 10mg/g pouch? These pouches are designed to be left under the lip for a maximum of 5 minutes.
Onto the actual review, the first thing I noticed was that ‘Cherry Cola’ was different to any other Candy Shop pouch I have tried, in that they are standard sized pouches rather than the slim ones (which seem to be more standard these days). I have to say the quality of Candy Shop has improved greatly over the last year or so. Before I’d find that they were very thin and flimsy, some flavours didn’t live up to their delicious sounding-names. The pouches in the Cola Cherry can were plump and soft. So soft. The stitching is much better, with an overlap of the material where the seam is, making it almost impossible for these pouches to split. Unfortunately I don’t have any of the older Candy Shop pouches for a comparison, but I’ll put a picture of the new ones below.
These nicopods smell and taste exactly how you’d expect. If you love Cherry Coke, and nicotine pouches, you’re sure to love these (unless of course you can’t handle the 100mg/g of nicotine). The sweet flavour is instantly recognizable sitting next to your gum, and lingers around for a while after you take the pouch out, which I really like.
The can design is cool and playful, even if it is a little childish. Let's face it though, nobody buys Candy Shop for their professional tubs. A pink/red background with a picture of a cherry, and the ‘Coca-Cola’ logo alongside the ‘Candy Shop’ one stands out. The overall pink colour on the top and side of the can give it a warm and friendly look.
Would I recommend this tub? Well, that depends - it’s definitely not for everyone because of the high strength. If you enjoy using pouches of this strength, then I couldn’t recommend a better pouch to try!
You can buy ‘Cherry Cola’, as well as other products from the Candy Shop collection here.
